Clamshell Parts Box Drawer for the UDS

This remix allows the storage of clamshell parts boxes in drawers, striking a balance between dense vertical storage and accessability. It is a remix of the Ultimate Drawer System XL by Marc Elbihon and Small Parts Tray by MKDesign, which is meant to be used with the Clamshell Parts Box by Nick Johnson.

Using the MKDesign organizer tray on its own allows for denser storage, but stacking multiple trays makes it difficult to access the lower ones. The UDS, when used alone, also provides dense storage without this accessibility issue. However, I found two drawbacks with it.

First, removing entire drawers to carry items around the workshop is risky—one mistake, and everything could spill onto the floor. Second, the drawers don’t have lids, making them susceptible to dust and small debris, which is unavoidable in woodworking and something I personally dislike.

I still use the UDS system as is for machine screws, but I created this remix to use with woodworking items.
