Secret Hitler XL - Communist Expansion

After many requests, it is finally here! The followup to my 3D printable version of Secret Hitler, I bring to you Secret Hitler XL, the Communist expansion to the original game. You now have the ability to incorporate Communists into your game, as well as other fun new roles such as the Anarchist, Monarchist, and Capitalist! The expansion also allows for up to 19 player games.

In the expansion there are three different Communist boards each used for different player counts, so just like in my original version, I designed add-on modifier pieces that you can easily place on top the board for 8-9 and 10+ player games.

To my understanding, Secret Hitler XL is a fan-made expansion to the game. I did my best to do research and make sure that all the elements of this new design are accurate and include all the pieces necessary to play the game with the expansion. You may see that some elements of the design differ from what is outlined in the rules, but I promise that I have created what I understand to be the most accurate version of the expansion based on my research. 

Team Alliances:

• The Monarchist is aligned with the Fascists
• The Capitalist is aligned with the Liberals 
• The Anarchist is aligned with the Communists 

Board Layouts by Player Quantity:

• For 6-7 players: Use the board as-is 
• For 8-9 players: In the following order, use Bugging, Radicalization, 5-year plan, Congress, Confession 
• For 10+ players: In the following order, use Blank, Radicalization, 5-year plan, Radicalization, Confession

Player Ratios: 

• 6 Players: 3 Liberals, 1 Fascist, Hitler, 1 Communist
• 7 Players: 4 Liberals, 1 Fascist, Hitler, 1 Communist
• 8 Players: 4 Liberals, 2 Fascists, Hitler, 1 Communist
• 9 Players: 4 Liberals, 2 Fascists, Hitler, 2 Communists
• 10 Players: 5 Liberals, 2 Fascists, Hitler, 2 Communists
• 11 Players: 5 Liberals, 3 Fascists, Hitler, 2 Communists

  • The Monarchist, Capitalist, and Anarchist are also mix and match roles that you can swap in for another role of the same party in games under 17 players

I recommend using matte filaments! The thin, dual-sided nature of the cards means that it is likely you will be able to see through to what is on the other side using standard filaments, the opacity of matte filaments are able to prevent this. I used Overture Matte PLA Light Brown (pictured) and achieved full opacity. 

A clean build plate is a must for adhesion. The designs have a lot of fine details, so make sure to wash your build plate with dish soap and hot water before each print. 

Everything pictured was printed with 0.4mm nozzle, for highest detail use a 0.2 mm nozzle.
