Description

12/2/2024 Update:

- Increased tolerance on the placards for easier installation of the legs

- Updated print profile to add additional holes for magnets on the boards with increased tolerance

I wanted a 3D printable version of the Secret Hitler board game that stayed true to the original design, so I created this set using the game’s original artwork, with all components fitting neatly into a compact box.

Each card has front and back artwork and there are 10 unique secret role cards. In the original game there are three different Fascist boards each used for different player counts, but for my version I designed two add-on modifier pieces for the Fascist board, which you can easily place on top the board for 7-8 and 9-10 player games.

Note: Magnets are required for the Liberal and Fascist boards to attach the halves, and envelopes are needed for the secret roles. Links are provided below.

For best results use a 0.2 mm nozzle, but everything can be printed with a 0.4 mm nozzle as well. (Pictured printed with 0.4mm nozzle: Ballot cards, Secret Role cards, Party Membership cards, President and Chancellor placards, Discard & Draw placeholders, and the Game Box. Pictured printed with 0.2mm nozzle: Liberal board, Fascist board, Fascist board mods, and Policy cards.)

Note: The print profile includes snug supports only required for the lid grooves of the game box, which can be removed with tweezers, you can turn off supports for everything else. This design ensures the lid fits securely.

Tip: Matte colors work best due to the dual-sided cards and the low profile nature of the pieces, they will give the best coverage so you don’t see through the parts.

edit: finished printing now and the game looks ready to go! looking forward to playing it next week holiday and christmas! thank you for the print!! This model is so awesome! I’m printing it right now and it’s mostly completed but one thing I noticed was that once the storage box was filed with the 4 part boards to the top, it’s really hard to take out without flipping container upside down. is there a way to modify this so it’s easier to take out the contents inside?

So what works for me is you can push all the boards down in one corner (where the placards are) and they all lift up so you can easily grab them, give that a try and let me know how it is!

ah okay. that does work for me except sometimes the very bottom board doesn’t like to pop up all the way for me to grab. it’s just a minor inconvenience. thank you so much for this model!!

A truly beautiful game, yet somewhat challenging to print in my experience The non-matte colors are clearly visible on the game cards, and there is some slight smearing of the black ink underneath the lighter colors on the game board The lid proved difficult to slide along the groove, making removal somewhat cumbersome However, this remains the best model for this game

Looks great! Thank you for the feedback. White filament is almost never entirely opaque so it would prove challenging for the double sided printing of the cards where you'd be able to see the colors on the other side. For the game boards, I split them in half in the BambuStudio slicer and when doing so, it affected the way the colors are distributed near the inner edges, I tried to avoid this by painting the colors thicker on those inner sides but it didn't do enough, I wish there was a way to get each section of colors thicker to avoid the bleeding, I supposed they could also be printed without the black base and instead with more blue or red.

There must be a way to color the underlying part of the board

Details are awesome! great print! I used a mix between this design and another that is a bit more portable and uses a lot less filament.

Amazing design! Are you planning on making an expansion with the Communist board as well? And what did you use to design this beauty??

No plans to do the communist board any time soon, but maybe someday if I don't have a new project I can make it! I used Fusion 360

Could you provide a step file or the fusion files used to make this. Would like to play around with making the expansion but dont want to reverse engineer them from stl files.

I attempted to make a profile for the A1 mini, but the game box is too large for the build plate. I wouldn't recommend scaling down the pieces any further due to the detail in the prints either as anything smaller than what i uploaded did not pass any of my print tests, the text just gets too small

We love what you've made here! The Secret Hitler Team does have a few questions though. And don't worry, we're not going to ask you to take it down. Please email us at secrethitlergame@gmail.com to discuss! - Maya, Community Manager
