Description

Have a space that you'd like to fit baskets into, but there is no model available that is just the right size? This generator will help you create a custom, stackable basket that fits your space perfectly!

⚠️Attention: I've marked this model as beta because it's still experimental. It's my first attempt at a parametric model and I'm still learning. If you encounter any issues with the model please let me know. Your feedback is very appreciated and will help me improve the model!

🚨Expected issues that you may encounter:

  • General slowness! The repeating diamond pattern takes a lot of computing and may slow down or break generation of the model, especially if you try to create a very large basket and/or make the diamonds very small. If you're having trouble, try generating a smaller basket or use a larger setting for the diamonds.
  • Breaking Handles! Setting the handle to be large, but with a small basket width or a very thick border, will result in there not being enough room for the handle to be generated properly. If you are trying to make a tiny basket, experiment with making the border and the handle smaller as well.

Tips For Smoother Printing:

  • Stringing: Due to the nature of the shapes of this model (a lot of short travel distances between each diamond) it comes with the bonus feature of basically being a stringing test! Before printing, I suggest drying your filament and performing the necessary calibrations to help reduce stringing. In the event that you get a lot of little wispies anyway, you can always hit them with a heat gun or other heat source to help with removal.
  • Adhesion: Baskets have a large footprint and can be prone to lifting at the corners. Ensure your bed is clean and consider making the bed a little warmer than usual (I used 60C for Bambu PLA Basic).
  • Smooth Handles: The keep the handles looking smooth, I suggest going into seam painting mode and using block seam (right mouse button) along the upper edge of the handle as shown below. This will prevent a seam forming on this area, which can end up looking a bit rough on the outside of the basket.
