Description

I made some thin baseplates that save a ton of time and filament. The models I have included are shelled out at 0.8mm.

I have included a parametric file for Fusion 360 - you can make any size grid and change the shell thickness.

I printed mine with a 0.4 nozzle, 0.2 layer height, and 3 walls. Shelled at 0.8. It printed great!

(I tried printing at 0.5 shell, and it was too thin. I have not tried 0.6 or 0.7 yet.)

A friend of mine printed it with a 0.6 nozzle and 0.32 layer height (with 0.7 shell). He said it also came out great!

Print it right-side-up. My slicer tried to print it upside down, and it didn’t work as well.

On a 5x5 grid, it saved me 10g of filament and almost 15 minutes of print time!

Great design here. Prints much faster and saves filament! And parametric to boot!!! I tried to post a "make" but cannot seem to figure out how to do that here in makerworld.

OK, it won't let me post because I didn't use the makerworld app to print it. I downloaded and manually used BambuStudio. :( I'll need another one soon. I'll use the app to print and post a make.

5 stars highly suggest this print if you are tackling a gridfinity project. it feels good in PLA - PETG didn't do so well. the savings in filament alone are worth it as i spent about 20g for a 5x5 did take me about 45 min on a p1s on generic pla. but i'm not mad at that, dunno if i can go faster. i'll try to do a extra draft version. considering going .6 nozzle for speed though. weird, i can't seem to add a rating to it... doing the post from the website on my computer.

Printed in ASA (didn't have anything other at hand) and it came out nicely with 0.28 layer hight and a brim on the outside because I was a bit afraid of warping.
