Description

Do you consider yourself a maker? Well, there is a fair amount of ‘make’ in this one if you do.

I've been trying out making some decorative woven pieces, and the first project was a small pencil cup. I'm pretty happy with it personally.

Print this out in any colour comibination that you would like. Use a single colour for each of the ‘ribbons’ or GO CRAZY and use some old left-over filament for each ribbon being a different colour. Whatever you do, I want to see photos as that is the only thing that makes he happy these days.

Putting it all together

  1. Print all of the pieces. Duh!
  2. Insert each of the posts into the base. THE SQUARE END goes in to the base. Press them all in firmly. Face each of the posts the same way. ie. If you want to see the build-surface side of the posts, ensure that each is placed the right way as you put them in.
  3. Start with Ribbon #1 and carefully tear off the ‘mouse ears’ that were useful during the printing phase. Then with the number being at the bottom, remove the number and place the ribbon over the posts with the bottom going down. For the early ribbons you will need to bend the posts a little.
  4. Work your way through each of the ribbons. Remember to get them the right way up and in numerical sequence.
  5. After all of the ribbons are on, press the top ring into place. This might take a minute or two to get the posts all in the right spot. You wanted to be a maker.

That's it I suppose. Sit back and look at it. Be proud of your work (and mine). Remember to give me a great rating and a really nice comment to go with it. Don't forget the photo either. That will satisfy our contract.

Thanks for the photo. I love the colour choice. I really enjoyed designing this model, as it didn't feel like a 3D-printed item.

Not the ordinary 3D print model! a creative combination of leaving in 3D printing.. I printed in two different color wood fiber filaments and it looks great.
