Description

Super-size the holiday season with decorative jumbo vintage-style Christmas light bulbs!

Instructions:

  • 0.2mm layer height for all parts
  • Print 5 bulbs (any colors, no brim)
  • Print 5 bases (any color, enable support at 15º threshold angle)
  • Print 5 clips (same color as base)
  • Print hooks (3 wall loops)
  • Print the cord with TPU (any color)
  • Remove supports from bases
  • Attach clips to bases (friction fit)
  • Attach bulbs to bases (friction fit)
  • Thread bases onto cord (see attached diagrams)

Notes:

  • These are faux bulbs and do not actually light up.
  • The clip that attaches to the base is decorative and non-load bearing.
  • I've included two cords of the same length. One of the cords has a tighter spiral for smaller build plates.
  • Transparent / clear filament works well for the hooks.

Did you modify these to have a light inside? Or did you find a small puck light that fits? Can you share?

A standard tea light fits inside.

I have a separate "Christmas Tea Light Bulb" version of this model that's designed specifically for tea lights. Check my profile!

Great design - I used Hatchbox Forest Green PLA to match that classic christmas string light color. A walmart "hyper tough" indoor 16ga extension cord worked perfectly for the string and matches the color. You could connect multiple strings this way too if you left alternating connectors on each end. The "bulb" file can sometimes be hard to get good adhestion because of the tiny area touching the bed. Would be more reliable with a brim.

This is just what I needed to get into the Christmas spirit. I’m printing so many to hang around my yard(kinda modified without using the bases and attaching them to the top of yard poles and stuffing lights inside haha) thank you so much for a seamless great file!

You can use the small hook to connect two cords. I hope this helps!
