Description

Just a simple remix of the handle (by LwFactory) and idea of a spool holder (by brokean) with added tubing mount. Holder was increased in its size and made as assembly with primitives, so it can be adjusted directly in BambuStudio (rotate by 45° to edit it more comfortable).

this thing will definitely rip the wire from the printer head

You mean it will rip the controle cable off? In his pic, it shows that he laid the wire behind the Z pillar. So that shouldn't happen that way, right?

I would not leave the wire behind Z. In this case, the wire will get caught on the rounded handle and it can also be torn off. just throw the cable behind Z and put your head towards the table and you will understand everything. I simply cut off this tube channel, and it can be removed from the slicer before printing

wire behind z worked just fine for me. I print for weeks with this setup 🤷‍♂️ PS: picture shows slightly older version, so please don't wander why the spool is lower.

Pretty neat and shrinks the footprint like I needed. I tried the tubing mount but the double bend seemed to mess with flow rate, so I had the filament drop straight down instead, as pictured. Also, I noticed that the holder started chewing up my spool a bit? Might want to either reduce layer height or turn on all surface ironing; it's not bad enough to make me want to reprint, though.

I noticed the same with my original print in petg at 0.2mm layer height and no ironing. Tried again with petg-cf at 0.16mm layer height and ironing on all solid layers but it's still happening and there's a slight jumping motion/grinding noise that happens as the available filament on the spool gets lower which probably affects the consistency of the flow/tension

I love this thing and use it on my A1 mini but I really hate the printed spool holder. I find the spool holder itself isn't smooth enough and after even a few weeks my print out is already showing grooves that have been cut into it from the cardboard spools. I would love to try and remix this to allow the original spool holder to screw onto it as this would make it vastly superior in my opinion.
