Description

A Storage box for all the Bambu Tools with a Lid to protect them when caring it around :)

Update 19.06.2024:  it seems some A1 Mini printers do some kind of homing sometimes at this position and then is going below Z-0. I never experienced this with my printer, however replaced the Body by a new version which is now 27mm high instead of 29mm before so the Hotend should not touch the lid anymore.

No support required.

As the lid does open to the right it can be left open while printing.

To mount the Toolbox just remove the lower Z-Rail cover and install it with the same screw.

I strongly recommend to print at least the lid in a dark color so the LED won`t overexpose the camera !

Print with PETG/ABS or some other high-temp filament, as its very close to the bed ;)

For people who prefer a version without removing the original Z-cover i created a remix here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/501078

This design is flawed. Two of my prints failed and I didn’t realize why until I was in front of the printer to see the nozzle comes over and strikes the box. This is a nice toolbox, but do not install it where the author suggests. It makes a god awful sound when correcting itself from the failure.

hmm, it seems the printer does do some kind of homing sometimes at this position and then is going below Z-0. I never experienced this with my printer, however i`ll upload a new version ob the Box_body later today where the box is 2mm smaller in hight.

I don't know why, but every time I start printing, the hotend taps on this box (always in the same place, about halfway down the box, right at the edge of the table) and I already have a hole burned in it. It wouldn't be a big problem (only cosmetic), but every time the printer gives an error that there is filament at the tip and you have to manually resume printing

hmm, have you still the default start / end Codes ?

this happens to me too. the nozzle will tap the box while its printing and the printer thinks the nozzle is clogged or the plate isnt placed properly. but i think if you print with the lid open, the nozzle will still dip in the same area but wont stop unless it hits something

I don't feel comfortable unscrewing and voiding warrenty...can't u remake it to fasten clipnon no screw needed? won't it work OK without the screw?

The lower plastic part is straight, there is no place to clip it in. You don`t void warranty by unscrewing and removing the original part, its part of the philosophy to be able to mod and repair the printer by your self. The main goal of this box is to have it securely mounted to the printer, and not clipped or taped ;)

Replying to @Kriii :
You could create another version with cutouts for 3M VHB Tape. Should be stuck well enough. I use it to mount my license plate to my car and it holds well even above 200km/h. That would make it more useful for people in doubt and scared for their warranty
