Description

I wanted to try to design something for the fishing accessory contest as I love to go fishing with my kids, and by fishing I mean fixing poles and watching them catch fish. One of the biggest pains is when it is time to go home and I am trying to figure out how to rig my poles up to stuff them in the car and hope that when we get back there are no hooks stuck in children's clothes or seats. I also wanted to make something that could keep the two parts of my poles together. with those problems in mind and having seen something similar once on someone else pole I give you the Fish hook container and pole Organizer or FHPO.

I printed mine from PLA, but seeing as these will likely be in cars and outdoors a lot I would recommend PETG or ASA. The Zip Tie and Zip Lock should be made from TPU.

Assembly (see model pictures):

  1. Place the Inner Case small side first into the Outer Case hole and push them together. These parts were designed to interlock at the base and you should hear a slight click. Once inserted, the Inner Case shouldn't fall out of the Outer but should be able to spin Freely within the Outer case.
  2. Insert the Zip Tie through one of the side holes and around your pole and though the other side hole of the Outer Case. Please make sure that the Inner case top is facing the opposite direction form where the hook will be coming from.
  3. With the Inner and Outer case aligned you should see a opening in the container where you can put the hook. Pull the string to the top of the container in the slot and rotate the inner container 180 degrees or until the opening in the container is closed.

Your hook is now secure and wont get caught on anything!

if you are going to disassemble your pole into two parts for storage note that the Zip lock has two holes. Place the small part of the rod on the excess Zip tie after the Zip Lock and then push the tip of the Zip tie into the second hole of the Zip lock. tighten until the pole is sung in place.

Printed quickly and nicely with the tree supports. Very smooth operation. Nice design. My 2-piece rod broke so didn't print the TPU strap yet.
