Description

Description

I have created a cable sleeving organiser, to carry a compact amount of cable sleeving up to 6mm in diameter . I have now used the organiser for a few months in an industrial environment and it has taken multiple impacts and works as it did the day it was made. The organiser can either be attached to your tool bag, pocket or other objects using a carabiner. There are also slots for two 20x 3mm magnets (https://amzn.eu/d/2tSxzGC ) which allow the organiser to be attached to distribution boards/ consumer units or other metal surfaces whilst carrying out work.

Building the organiser

  1. Firstly make up the spools by screwing the top to the base (I used a small amount of glue on the threads to stop them un-screwing).
  2. Attach the clasp to the case by snapping it into position on the bar of the rounded side of the case.
  3. Insert the two magnets in the back of the case using glue to hold the magnets in place.
  4. Load the spools as described in the next section.
  5. Add a Carabiner to the top loop if you want to hang the organiser.

Loading the sleeving

There are three spool holders held inside the strong case each one, containing a rewindable spool, simply push a small amount of sleeving in the hole and wind the sleeving on to the spool making sure you don't overload the spool. Then push the end of the sleeving through the holder hole and pop the spool inside screwing on the lid afterwards. Place the spool holder into the case pushing the sleeving through the hole and making sure the holder lip lines up with the hole.
