Description

Here’s a fun little storage box I made for my Animal Crossing-obsessed daughter! I scanned the Switch packaging and copied the logo basically, then just extruded it to make a box in the shape of the wooden board of the logo. I also tried to get a bit of a woodgrain effect on the box bit too. It turned out great and I’m always surprised by how well my Bambu copes with whatever I throw at it!

I know I could have gone completely multi-colour and printed this in one go, but I designed this to look good with or without an AMS, so I kept the colour-changing to an absolute minimum and did most stuff as separate prints – it saves an awful lot of time & filament changes too! Even though there are a few parts, It’s really easy to put together - I made sure to put recesses in the lid for the lettering, so there’s no chance of gluing them in wonky (well, the wrong kind of wonky I guess)

Rather than integrate the New Horizons label shape into the box, I kept it as an extra you can stick on as an option, in case you’d rather just have the box with no frills.

Anyway, sure it’ll come out great for you too - if you are printing it without an AMS, you can still do the box in brown, the lettering in yellow, and the tag in light blue, so it'll still look almost the same! I've included profiles for both.

Here are the RGB values off the box artwork to help with filament choices anyway:

Animal Crossing Letters – Pale Yellow/gold - #FFD050

Wooden box – Wood/brown/tan - #B1773F

New horizons tag BG – Aqua/Cyan/Light Blue - #78C0D6

New horizons tag sand & box clockface – light yellow - #F4F3D1

New horizons tag island and tree – dark green - #05A27B

The box lid prints best right-way up (lettering uppermost) btw, I know it uses a lot of support to fill the box void, but that’s the price of a good result! (I tried it face down with much less support/wastage, but the support wouldn’t come away nicely and left a bit of a mess, so I left it in the more wasteful orientation for best results)

Hope it can please even more AC fans out there, happy printing! :D
