Description

I was curious what the enclosure temperature of my Bambu Lab P1S was, but there isn't much room to place a thermometer. I had a round thermometer/hygrometer from another project that was quite small. Now, my idea was to mount it close to the top glass so it was out of the way but easy to read. But, I did not want to block the top glass as it is already covered with an AMS and secondary camera. So I designed a pivot the hides it under the metal rim when not in use and easily pivots out using a knob sticking up from the oval hole on the right front edge of the top of a P1S or P1P (see the GIF).
It prints in one piece. Insert the thermometer/hygrometer into the loop of the holder aligning the bottom the the etched mark on the holder (see pictures). Next, install the holder by inserting it into the bottom (inside of enclosure) of the oval hole until you see the operating knob and then the first arm of the pivoting mechanism. Now twist the arm (I used a small flathead screwdriver) counter-clockwise (anti-clockwise) until it is snug. The holder should now be able to be pivoted in and out of sight.

The thermometer/hygrometer I used was: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CMTNLK2H?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
I found some of these have some burrs on the mounting tabs, but a file cleaned them up quickly.
