Description

This latest version of the Desiccant Wedge has been a long time coming, I have had requests for a wider radius Wedge to fit full spools. When I first released the original there was a wider version but it didn't take off as well and to keep things simple I settled on the standard size you can find linked at the bottom. The Stubby is made for the full Bambu Spool, it is designed to fit between ¾ to full coils.

This new version is a ground up build in fusion using the current standard evolution as a base. I've kept this one small to save both time and filament, after researching and experience found that there is no advantage having excessive Desiccant Beads in such a small area. To be most effective I've only placed the slots on the inside, this gives better strength on the outside and saves time in printing as the print head doesn't have to dance circles around the whole perimeter. The funnel clips over the mouth and filling up till the beads hit it gives you a reasonably good guide. Overfilling gives no advantage, the beads will work better when not packed tight. Overall the idea of the Dessicant Wedge is to maintain a stable environment inside the bag, it will not reduce moisture out of the filament as there is no heat or high vacuum involved. Speaking of vacuum, please do not over vacuum your bags as it can damage spools, filament (crushed together) and also takes away the medium that moisture has to travel to the desiccant.
