Description

Hello Fellow Bambu Lab Fans!

Public design on OnShape - A beginning of a vision...

Looking for community help from designers and CAD masters to help with what could be (in my opinion) one of if not the best solution for solving these key hobbiets challenges with the PIP and X1-C/X1 plus AMS:

  • Single AMS above the printer but not on the glass lid
  • Lid riser needs for clearance, lighting, and ventilation
  • Clear visibility from the top of the printer inside the chamber

I have posted STEP, 3MF and Images on PrintablesI have made other lid designs and have had some positive and improvement feedback on Printables. I am still learning CAD - But I am hoping together we can bring something special to the community.

Printing draft via Orca on 2 X1-Cs

My ask is simple - Will you please help take this draft design to the next level with your skills and experience for the greater good of all of us Bambu Lab printer owners?

  • My profile on Printables, I am not a bot: https://www.printables.com/@RockChewer
  • Uploaded model and files: Right here you found it!
  • You do not have to use my model, make your own or adjust someone else's model if you like
  • Obviously be able to print on a Bambu machine :-), common filaments like PLA+, PETG or ABS to help with costs would be nice
  • Add ventilation capabilities and the ability to add lighting or other electronics, and please have the lid sit nicely (the M3 hardware can be pesky the lid handle)
  • Achieve a 100MM (give or take) between the bottom of the AMS when sitting on top to where the top of the pinter is for visibility
  • Other ideas to consider are built-in VOC filtering, switch boxes/power tap, spool holders, anything that you think the community will benefit from.

So what do you say? Are you in?!?! Thank you for your time and consideration.

Some folks I hope will participate because I am a huge fan: @MediaMan3d, @ktothestank, @humebeam

ABS draft print (I stink at ABS)

Test installation - not optimized for assembly FYI as I had both warping and too tight tolerances on the connectors
