Description

Light up your desk, wall, entertainment center with this custom lightbox! Just print the letters you need and slide them into place! Each row fits 10 letters wide, so you have plenty of space!

Highly recommend Clear/Transparent filament for the Letters, but White still looks very good!

I used 10mm Cool White LED strips and they work perfectly!

This is a work in progress, I will be adding more symbols and features in the future so stay tuned!

Numbers and symbols such as '@' and '&' would be a nice addition indeed. I made it but don't like how the light illuminates the edged mostly..gonna try another configuration of the LEDstrip. Nice upload for sure, had zero issues printing ✌🏻.

Hey! Added numbers and a bunch of symbols for you! I'm doing the same things with the lights, i placed them on the back of the box and it works quite well (not the picture in the model post).

Well done sir, appreciate it. here is my cut up LED strip, soldered back together. Am also considering printing the cover with higher density than the 15% to try and distribute the light more evenly, have you tried that yet? Edit; or print some diffusers for the strips itself.. might try that first. Also to add; the LEDstrip is on full brightness in my pic, it is dimmable however the light distribution could be improved. Maybe I should place the strips behind the borders in between the lines of text 🤔, eliminate one strip and see what that does..

Settled on adding a 5th strip (all came out of one €4,79, 1,5 meter long LEDstrip), powered by the included 230V wall socket adapter. Happy with what it looks like now :), just have to add a TPU grommet where the wire enters and perhaps for the mounting holes if I put it on a cabinet to prevent backlight.

I haven't printed mine yet so maybe I'm wrong, but I'm wondering if the letters could be designed to print so that the finished side is the build plate side. Maybe they come out clean enough this way but the things I've printed with the build plate side as the finished side were so amazingly clean and the texture is so nice. I can imagine it would be nice for this use also.

The grooves that are used to slide into the plate are 45° angles chamfers so yes you can print face down!
