Description

The Design

You Asked for it, its here!

The new Stackable impossible passthrough!

Fully compatible with the V2 Series,

The “male” part of the thread seems to defy physics by passing through the slightly larger “female” Part

Now your can print as many tall parts as you like and add them together to make an extra long vortex tube!

The Ball Twists its way down the Tube

There is a Top cap and a Bottom cap to prevent the the ball escaping

Or, if you've got a spring from a ball point pen lying around, try adding this into the centre!

Dimensions of 1 tall part is approximately: diameter 32mm x 60mm

Let me know if you experience any issues.

If you enjoy this print consider giving it a boost (It'd really help me out!)

Printing

Ensure Auto Tree supports with 30 degree angle is used (to support the top section of the tall piece)

The ball is “floating” to ensure the best lower surface possible. use auto tree supports to an angle of 30 degrees

It is set up to print sequentially, it is very tight on the print bed, if you have any issues i suggest you split into separate plates.

Once printed let the build plate cool before trying to remove.

My Work

After many years in Engineering, I've just decided to try and follow my childhood dream of becoming of a Creative Designer.

A Creative Designer of what? No idea! Right now I really like puzzles, mechanisms and kinetic sculptures so that's where I'm going to focus my efforts.

Boosts really help me out

To support me even more (not ever required), for information around development of my models (background to come) and for commercial use, i've started a patreon here:

Prints awesome in PolyTerra matte rainbow. You gotta force it back and forth a couple times before it'll start easily sliding through the part where two towers join. Once it's broken in, it's amazing.

This stackable version is great and printed perfectly with the profile. I may soon run out working pens in the house if I keep raiding them for springs to make more.

The wife and I love your prints. however I always have issues, it could be down the filament I am using. the issues are the flow of the models, they always require some assistance or get stuck, also parts easily break. I'm using matte pla. do you suggest something else? I printed this today and it will only go so far up and I've already got a small break. Suggestions ?

Hey, thanks and I'm sorry they sometimes don't work for you. In terms of fit, the most important thing is that the filament is calibrated so as not to under or over extrudes. From the looks of your print it looks like the filament might be slightly damp, any chance you could dry it or do you have some other filament you could try? Damp filament makes it less stuff so it flexs more when printing giving it that lump look

This is the one. This is it. The fidget I always wanted but could never describe to anyone. It falls. It shoots. It comes apart. It goes back together (most of the time). 10/10 VERY well done!
