Description

Note: You will need Pilot G2 ink cartridge refill and spring (I am using 0.7mm black refill)

What could be a better fidget toy than the original fidget toy! The clicky pen has been with us since the 1950s, for use at home, in space, or simply in the humble individual's EDC.

Print yourself a clicky pen symbolizing the 21st century's breakthrough FDM 3D printing technology. This design only uses 6 grams of filament. Amaze co-workers with the tolerances needed to produce this tiny rotating CAM mechanism, all in a housing that is no thicker than a cigarette. Note 0.2mm nozzle is needed for this slim design (regular one compatible with 0.4mm nozzle coming soon). The following features were only possible in testing with the 0.2 mm nozzle:

  1. Thin 0.4mm walls in some areas (keep slim and optimal design)
  2. Highly detailed plunger teeth (reducing break in period)
  3. Highly detailed rotating CAM teeth (reducing break in period)
  4. Very thin threads in both the barrel and nose (make printing easier)

The ability to print highly detailed functional mechanisms like the ones found in clicky pens using FDM 3D printing challenges the mentality that FDM 3D printing is inaccurate. This pen's design was inspired by the Leuchtturm line of pens. Who needs a clip!
