Description

Finally, Swerve Drive MK4 NEOs and SparkMAX Motor Controllers can be connected in style!

This mount has been engineered to fit seamlessly over the Swerve Drive Specialties MK4 (NEO REV1.1+ with motor spacers/SparkMAX motor controllers configuration) modules.

Reasons you should use this model:

  • Less filament required compared to other models while ensuring strength and rigidity
  • Minimal contact with the NEOs which prevents the heat dissipation generated by the motor casings from warping the print
  • No extra metal or printed parts required
  • It looks stylish! (cool factor and design mentioned in the First Updates Now Robot Reveal livestream)

For attaching the SparkMAX motor controllers to the mount, use two Zipties (one threads through a hole and the other rests in a slot) and/or VHB Tape on the flat surface. We use both of these items, and our motor controllers have stuck on throughout the season.

Attached is the model print profile for the Bambu Lab X1-Carbon, along with two raw model files (.sldprt format). The first file is the same model as the mount in the print profile, but the second file has lower SparkMAX mounts in case you want your motor controllers farther out of harm's way.

The print profile calls for Bambu Lab PETG Basic - Bambu Green filament, but any engineering filament (PLA/PETG/ABS/ASA/PC/PA6/you get the idea) will be ideal for this mount. The original mounts were printed in Bambu Lab PLA Basic - Bambu Green and INLAND PLA+ - True Red, but they were updated to PETG because FRC competitions include BattleBot-level collisions.

This mount has only been successfully tested and printed on a Bambu Lab X1-Carbon. Use at your own risk when printing on other printers.

This is an original concept and design. The watermark is only present on the print profile model and is absent on the attached raw models. If you do decide to use this mount, please credit us (Team 1825 - The Cyborgs)! We'd really appreciate it, and we won't sue for defamation and fraud (just kidding).
