The new Version of Front Desiccant Boxes for AMS and AMS 2 Pro

Have you tried weaving the Silica Boxes for your AMS? Okay... having them woven by a 3D printer!😅👍

 

Slim front side AMS (and Hydra) corners silica dryer pod/drybox with snap fit lids for Bambu Lab AMS

I hidden seam manually to get clean external surfaces (was a lot of work for this model - but quality is worth it)! 👌

 

I think the silica boxes in AMS are simply brilliant, so the filaments can stay in AMS for a long time and be kept dry for a very long time! The silica gel can simply be dried in oven or microwave and used again - top!

When changing silica, I wondered whether boxes should also exist for the narrow sides/corner niches on the far left and far right in AMS? I discovered a few models at printables, but they did not fit the design of my existing ones, did not have a "snap fit" lid, or grid was so oriented that they could not be printed cleanly. So, I allowed myself to remix two models - that's what it's all about!

 

These side boxes are fully compatible with the Hydra AMS! (proved by Hydra Users)

Print Instructions: (important settings for this filigrane model)

Quality:

  • layer height: 0.2mm

Strength:

  • wall loops: 2
  • top shell layers: 5
  • bottom shell layers: 3
  • sparce infill density: 20%

Speed:

  • first layer: 20 mm/s
  • first layer infill: 20mm/s
  • outer wall: 50 mm/s
  • inner wall: 50 mm/s
  • small perimeters: 50%

Others:

  • Brimtype: only for buckets - outher brim only
  • Brim width: min 5 mm

This model should be printed slowly and needs maximal cooling for nice finish of grid - better place them close to AUX Fan and set this (after first 1-4 layers) to 70%. It is helpful to swith your Bambulab Printer from “Standard” Speed to “Quiet”.

Filament: PLA is good enough!

If you like this design, you can also prints these lids for large and small boxes that have a very cool Bambu-Lab-Logo handle, which is very helpful when pulling it out of the AMS! 👌😍👍

These funnels are very easily put on instead of the lid (but specifically not as tight as the lid!) and stay on the pods by themselves and can be comfortably held together with the pod on the funnel handle! In addition, the pods can be easily filled to the brim because they are clipped on from the outside. 👌😍👍
