Description

UPDATE: Added a Ver. 2.0 that drops the material cost down to 20.3g, making it (probably) printable with a filament sample.

An adapter to mount the A1 mini's included spool holder to the top-back of the printer. Strongly inspired by Iacopo's A1 Minimal Handle and Spool Holder, but I'm tweaking my own work on a vertical mount adapter - now with far fewer fillets to screw up and 18g less material.

Requires the included piece of plastic the spool holder clips to, and the two screws that normally attach that piece of plastic to the Z-axis (see pictures).

I had issues with the PTFE holder, with PLA it broke. I modified the design to make it stronger and longer because with the short one I had continuous tangles with the small diameter spools

Thank you for the model. Works perfectly and has no issues so far. Best top load, space saving, easy to print spool holder design for the mini that I’ve come across.

Good fit and clever use of existing parts, did exactly what I needed and reduced the profile of my printer so it fits on my desk. Would have bee cool if it could be printed to accept the standard PTFE holder but the fixed position does the job. Came out flawless on my A1 mini with standard bambu PLA.
