Description

This model is for those who (like me) are having problems with some spools falling out of the AMS during long prints.

These are two small parts that do not affect the original movement, print quickly and use very little material. I tested PLA and PETG and both worked well, but I prefer PETG because of the friction of the parts.

For the spools I use, the smaller 1cm locking pin is sufficient. However, I also added a larger 2cm pin to the model to fit different spool sizes.

Instructions

I will leave two videos showing how to assemble and use the parts.

Hope this helps :)

Since I've got my A1 I've printed many many AMS lite lockers and this is by far the most reliable and sophisticated solution I've seen! Thank you for this! Printed flawlessly! Printing the other 3 now!

I printed this and it fits perfectly on my normal width rolls. Would you be able to make another version of the threaded part about 3/4 to an inch longer. I have a few larger rolls and the threads don't stick out enough to screw on the retaining nut. That's my issue, but as far as this print goes it printed perfectly and just works. Thanks!

No problem. I added another bigger pin to the STL Download, tell me if it was enough. Thanks for your support!

I appreciate it, I'll try and print it again tomorrow. Just an FYI but I don't see an additional file in the Handy app. I'll have to check bambu studio on my computer tomorrow to see if it shows in there.

This is my first model and I really haven't found how to change the .3mf file of my model, I don't think it's possible. So I added it as a new STL that you just need to download and add to Bambu Studio on your computer, if you don't know how let me know. I made a test print and everything looks fine :)

love the idea just what I'm looking for except my prints seem to lock out the spool spring at the end as if the don't go deep enough and jam the center spool part up, and i can't put the back part back on not deep enough, am i missing something

I believe you didn't remove the support. It comes off easily by holding it with pliers and rotating it. Once you remove all the support, the piece should go in easily.
