Here we have a mini sliding wedge clamp these types of vices are used for jointing small components and holding together whilst they are glued in position and then screwed is one such example, butt Joints or 45 Deg Joints can be set in place.
I think for this to work as it should it's best if the base and the wedges are lightly sanded to afford more grip when in the gripping position, the pla is too glossy on it's own, these would usually be made out of wood.
The design includes a tray for screws etc and I've numbered the wedges so no issues with getting them in the correct orientation.
