Description

This pop-up catapult prints in place, the only extra part needed is a rubber band. Though even if you don't have a rubber band, you can still launch manually!

 

Note: Before printing you may want to test your printer's tolerance for print in place hinges. To do that, you can use my Print in Place Tolerance Test model. By default, the catapults have 0.2mm of tolerance between separate parts.

 

You can print this in PLA or PETG.

 

When printing via the 3mf file, you should import it into Bambu Studio as a single object having multiple parts. I would recommend at least 25% infill on the arm, 15% for everything else is fine.

I printed a bunch of these out and brought them into the office and started handing them out unannounced. The chaos was delicious!

Fantastic print! This was well thought out and a blast to play with. Going to make a game of, see who can get the ball in a cup from specific distances. The designer did an amazing job all around on this. I had no issues with it printing in place. Had to apply a little force to get the parts to move but works exactly as it should once that was done. I like that it can fold flat for storage. The balls print very quickly. Printed with PLA+ and no issues so far.
