This hexagon-based chainmail textile, also known as Hextile, is designed to look great and print reliably. While many similar chainmail models exist, this design stands apart thanks to carefully customized geometry, clean finished edges, and a unique multi-color pattern. It is fully print-in-place, requires no supports, and delivers consistent results, making it well-suited for mass production. Every detail has been refined through many rounds of testing and profile tuning to ensure strong links, clean bridging, and good adhesion to the build plate. Multiple sizes and print profiles are provided for common bed sizes so you can start printing confidently without trial and error. PLA is recommended and works exceptionally well, producing a fabric that flexes smoothly while remaining strong and looking great. While the model is designed with the AMS in mind and supports multi-color printing, it also prints beautifully in a single color, making it accessible for any setup.

Unlike many chainmail models that leave hanging loops along the edges, this design features clean finished sides that allow multiple panels to be fitted together. The fabric supports a three-color layout, with one color used for the interlocking loops and body, and two colors forming patterns on the top and bottom surfaces. This creates a striking honeycomb appearance with endless color possibilities. Whether used for decorative panels, satisfying fidgets, or unique gifts, this chainmail textile is built to print easily and stand out visually.
