For me it works very well in PETG, I would advise adding protection for pinching hand.

Thank you for the feedback, could I ask which part broke in PLA. I found PETG was not as good, a lot shorter distance, but the important thing is you got it to work. Which brand of PLA did you try? Good point about protection, I had one on the previous version but no-one used it, but better to provide on just in case. I will look at making a guard sikmilar to previous (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5447123).

the filament used is PLA Smartfil. I don't have an exact photo of the breakage because I threw it in the trash. the PETG is Sunlu. In any case, congratulations for the design.

This is the area where I find that there is a risk of pinching the skin or fingers of children. I think that the two holes in front could allow you to insert a protective surround.

Printed 3 of these, 2 of them snapped after the first 2 or 3 shots (likely the filament as much as anything else) The third one is still going strong 20 shots later.

Prints and works great. Ny son wants to make an automatic nerf gun for an airplane (!). I wonder if this might be a good basis. If he could somehow use a servo to trigger it. What do you think?

Interesting idea. If you look at my Disc Gatling gun https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4668268 you could maybe trigger the same way. The small nerf balls might be easier to use as they may take up alot less space. I have been half thinking of making a hand held nerf gatling gun ... but not got the time, but happy to encourage others to try (might be an eaiser first step before airfraft mounted one). Let me know how he gets on.

just printed one to try out using no special PLA and its super fun! Great little gun for kids because it doesnt shoot nerfs very hard or far but they get the satisfaction of loading their little guns and pew pewing the bullets around!

Thank you for the kind words. I did it as an engineering challenge (fully 3D printed and in one piece) and also for fun :-)
