Filament spool holder that works for vacuum bagged spools as well as unwrapped spools, with hexagons, because hexagons are the bestagons. Made this for myself as I had a shallow space in a closet that would fit spools held parallel to the wall but not perpendicular. I figured someone else might be in the same situation down the line.
Connecting plate ensures all brackets are equally spaced for easy installation (I wanted to put up a bunch of these and didn't want to have to worry about spacing and leveling separate brackets.
Use tree supports just for the 90 degree overhangs. I set the support overhang level to 88 degrees and that worked great.
Assembly:
Slot the connector plate and connector rod into one side, then connect to the other side until connector plate is tight. (Fit is tight on purpose - use a raft or just file down the nubs until it fits.)
Once assembled, you can level it on the wall as one piece.
I used 3M double sided VHB tape to mount mine to the wall, it seems plenty strong to hold a full spool but no idea on longevity. Otherwise use #8 or #6 flathead screws.
Thanks to senditbro for the original hook design.
