Description

this is a filament spool holder i made that uses wheel bearing to allow it to roll. you will need two 8mm bearings for this to work correctly. you can get them from most roller skates or skateboards. i made it to where you can use smaller rolls as well. if you find any mistakes or a better way to make it please feel free to remix it. this is the first thing i have designed using tinkercad. thanks

my bearings have a loose fit on the roller. is that how its supposed to be?

mine fit well but not tight. If I turn it to the side, it will fall off. but it’s not loose where there is play in it.

oh ok. but wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the bearing if the shaft freely spint inside the bearing?

yea I get what you mean there. I just went and checked mine. they are tight enough that the bearings spin. I got my bearings from a skating rink I work at. I know they make two different sizes for the axles. do you think I should make the spool a little bigger so the bearings fit tight on there
