>>> Printed using PETG
>>> add 2 springs 33x9mm ( it should be printed without support, it has already been added)
>>> All that's required is to manually remove the wider section of the spring, which serves as the support. It's best to separate this from the main body using a blade.
The problem: the 3 cup holder design does not accommodate smaller drinks such as a Red Bull can. Since the cup holder holes overlap, it's not really possible to hold 3 drinks, so the middle section is basically useless.
The Solution: I used the middle cup position to create 2 spring flaps to accommodate variable drink sizes on the sides.
I went through several iterations to get the size just right for a friction fit. The knobs in the bottom also prevent rotation.
After print is done, use a 4mm drill to ream the pivot hole in the flap, to reduce friction. I used super glue to attach the springs, but maybe its not needed.
Hardware:
-9.5mm x 40mm spring (i uploaded the F3d model, so you can change the hole size and use a different spring)
Printing instructions:
I recommend using something other than PLA to print due to temperature stability. I used ASA, but PETG or ABS should be good as well.
print the base upside down, i.e. flat side down (no supports needed)
print the flap standing upright on its short side (support optional for the spring hole, but not necessarily needed)
use at least 3 perimeters
15% infill
