Description

These print in place bearings take 23 minutes and can be printed to understand the engineering and how ball bearings work or they can be printed for a fidget toy!

I recommend the print profile "Optimised 💯 [PETG], Concentric Circular Pattern, 0.2mm layer, 1 walls, 50% infill" for people having trouble with original print profile.

I recommend the print profile "High Strength💪 & Faster Spin⚡️, 0.2mm layer, 1 walls, 60% infill" for people who want the bearings to be much stronger and spin for longer.

I recommend the print profile “High Strength💪 & Multicoloured🌈, 0.2mm layer, 1 walls, 60% infill” for people who want the bearings to be multicoloured :)

I don't know why but it can't be printed. the second attempt also failed.Bambulab X1c

it looks like it didn't print the first layer properly, therefore, the rest of it didnt work. what i'd suggest is using the glue on your plate before printing, that ensures that the first layer gets stuck down properly. hope this helps :)

I'm not new to 3D printing. I use 3D Lac. First layer to good scanned Lidar

Works well. A little crunchy, but not unexpected for 3D printed round surfaces.

that could mean that one of the bearings isnt loose from the rings, if u give them all a wobble to see if theyre loose then you might be able to fix the "crunchy" sounds. also just the more u spin it the more the extra bits that might be printed will come loose :) but glad to hear it works well

Yeah, they took a bit to break loose. Just seem to end up a little unsmooth (possibly not entirely uniform, too). Does get better with use, though seems to still have occasional bumps. I might try seeing if using an 0.2mm nozzle has better results, but I mostly printed this to play with, and it satisfies that. Definitely a really good design, with results largely dependent on printer and print quality settings.

hmm interesting, when i printed them on my printer there was only one bearings that needed to be broken loose, question, this is out of curiosity now haha, were u using bambu labs filament? because thats what i used for my green ones, but i also printed using overture for my black bearings and they printed not as well as the bambu labs filament

I think it was my fault because of the Tolerances because the things in the bearing were stuck. If I had „configured“ the tolerances then it would worked on the first try. And sorry for the bad english, I am german :)

I had to loosen the balls a bit with pliers but after that, it spun very smoothly.

Apologies to see that, all I can suggest is trying the optimised print profile, hope this helps!

might have been caused by undried filament. I did use the same for other models with little issue, but just started drying a few days ago. Will try and remember to reattempt this same profile, so I can see if my rating needs updated.

some balls are not printed properly

unsure why that’s happened, apologies for that, all i can suggest is trying the “optimised💯” print profile, or putting a layer of glue stick down before the print
