Description

By request I've created this dual slot version, the original has a single slot and a single channel. See photos to see the differences. Both work well.

I've tried a lot of different clips and have not been entirely happy with them so I decided to implement a new design of my own. I put a lot of thought into it and made many prototypes before getting to version 1.0 Here are the features I designed into this clip:

  • 2 printed springs hold filament firmly and reliably
  • Holds all filament types including TPU and can be used with all spool types
  • Does not kink or damage the filament in any way
  • Low profile, so when it's on a full spool and stored in a box it's not easily knocked off
  • Prints without supports (all overhangs are at most 45deg)
  • Prints with less than 1g of filament
  • Printed successfully with PLA and PETG

If you try this clip and it does not work for you, please let me know why and I'll see if I can make improvements.

Fast prints. I made small adjustments to help clip a little better.

Oops my Bambu Lab A1 Mini printer is not able to print this, a warning says "Print settings are not compatible with selected printer" There is no A1 Mini button either. Is that build plate size, or why?

I published 2 profiles, one is for a single clip, the second is to print 9 clips one at a time. I suspect the 2nd one would be too big for the A1, but the first one should work. Which one did you try?

I tried the single, but same warning for either

Replying to @MarsGrover :
OK, I think I figured it out. The A1 Mini requires an entirely different profile. I added an A1 Mini to my Bambu Studio and produced a couple of *.3mf files but it's against Bambu's policy to publish a profile that has not actually been printed. So I can't post these *.3mf files. I'm going to suggest you download the existing *.3mf files, extract the STL's from it, then use those to print the clips and if you want to help the community, add your profiles to this object.
