Mine turned out fine, but the gap was a problem for me, too. I printed the original for screws, but then saw the pins instead, and re-printed those pieces. A little dab of glue and it is serving my toddler well.
Hello, I think you are asking why the parts are separated and not integrated, they are removed and oriented to increase strength with a low tolerance for glue.
I'm not entirely convinced... using screws for a children's toy is never a good option. I liked the design, but it's missing something to prevent the wheels from falling off (and that's not screws) to be ideal ;)
