Description

IMPORTANT! This cardboard spool adapter ONLY fits the PolyTerra line of PolyMaker cardboard filament spool. If you have a different PolyMaker line of filament, like PolyLite, PolyMax, PolySonic, PolyMide, PolyWood, or others, please use my other spool adapter here: PolyMaker AMS Spool Adapter.

I designed this Spool Adapter for the Bambu Lab AMS for my PolyTerra cardboard spools, since none of the other adapters currently available fit it properly. This design utilizes the holes of the carboard spools to help lock the adapter in place as well as an anti-slip lip at the top (prints without supports) that will prevent the adapter from coming loose inside the AMS. I exported this as a high quality STL and as a result the curves on the outside have no flat edges and will spin easily inside the AMS. The model only uses 8g of filament.

Orientation of the holes does NOT matter for this model. You may use both the top and bottom sets of holes.

Printed fine with some crappier old filament I had left over (not the PolyTerra in the picture). It still fits the spool, altough quite tightly, we’ll see if it comes off and can be reused once I’m done with this spool of PolyTerra.

Hi @bennny, What the others say is true. The print is very fragile. I suggest that the base has 3 layers instead of 2, and that is not printed in concentric pattern (at least the bottom and top) since the lines separate from each other with minimal force (while applying to the spool for example).

I’ll make some updates to it, but just be aware that every single one of my models is based on the same base model with just slight dimensional changes to they fit snuggly on each spool. 95% of people have no issues. This should make it obvious that it is user error in the instances where people have issues. But I’ve come to realize that I must accommodate the lowest common denominator, users who have no idea how to 3d print or what any of this means. Bambu Lab makes such good prints that people who violently rip the print off the plate like a Neanderthal are able to use their printers. I will accommodate people like you who cannot successfully print a circle in the next week or two when I get back from vacation.

Replying to @bennny :
I was just giving you a suggestion. I'm not here to be called a Neanderthal! I had no issues removing the print from the plate, never said that I did. I only said that the print is very fragile compared to dozens of similar others that I've printed and currently using on my cardboard spools from PolyTerra. And the only difference is what I said in the first comment, 3 layers on the base, and not using concentric pattern which will make it stronger. Use the information as you wish but don't come here calling me dumb. Thank you

Replying to @kill.sincere :
Do you have Ironing turned on in your slicer for this print? With Ironing on - thin parts such as this will be very fragile.
