The initial Bambu Lab spool holder functions effectively but consumes a substantial amount of filament and lacks several desirable features. These include the ability to monitor remaining filament on the spool, incorporating pass-through holes for respooling, and providing additional slots for securing loose filament ends.
The primary locking mechanism remains unaltered, ensuring compatibility between these and the original version, especially if one side requires modification. The locking tab persists for accommodating Bambu Lab refills, and the original shims offer additional locking strength if desired.
There is a label to write the material type.
I suggest using a material resilient to heat for enduring a filament dryer, such as PETG, ABS, ASA, PC, PA-CF, and similar options.
When using robust materials like PC or PA-CF, a 15% infill should suffice. Otherwise, for increased strength, I'd suggest opting for 6 wall loops and a 25% infill.
