Description
Whipped up a simple filament rack using ½" SCH 40 PVC I had laying around. Simply print and tap the PVC into the rack bases and tap together the riser sections.

I used 3/4" diameter dowels. They are a bit small but the 1" would not fit.

thank you for the kind words! it was a quick little design. the 1/2” pvc is not ideal for the weight but I had it on hand and it’s working great for me.

i have made a remix making them longer and added screw holes. design is good, but it was just to low to get rolls in.

Worked better than I expected! Went to Home Depot and picked up the necessary PVC pipes (Pro tip: they have PVC pipe cutters in the aisle so you can cut them small enough to fit in your car and not have to buy the overpriced precut 2ft pieces). Also, buy the smallest diameter one they have (1/2 inch diameter) to fit this model

this storage works great. I used a 3/4” wood dowel rod and hot glue to fill the small gap.

I printed out these pieces, put the shelves together, just to find out that they are not tall enough to get the filament spools in/out, without having to tilt them 🙁

certainly imperfect, there has been a remix to remedy this issue. I still use it daily with minimal issues. I will fix the model at some point but it hasn’t been a serious nuisance for me. I just insert the spools in the middle of the rack which is a snug fit.
