Ikea Alex Modular Insert System (Tall Drawers)

This is part two of my Ikea Alex Modular Insert System that fits the narrower IKEA Alex 5-Drawer Cabinets and tall drawers.

An entire drawer will fit 3 large square trays (Plate 1, Item 1), and 3 rectangular ones (Plate 2, Item 2) which can in turn be filled using a combination of nesting inserts of your choice. The rectangular trays are exactly two thirds the size of the square trays, making the system completely modular.

Plate 1 includes the large square tray. Plate 2 includes the rectangular tray and the interchangeable nesting inserts. Plate 3 includes nesting inserts that are not interchangeable between the two trays. Plate 4 includes the same inserts as Plate 3, only in half the height - allowing you to stack inserts in the larger trays.

To fill out a Drawer you'll need from the figure above:

• 3 Large Square Inserts (Item 1 pictured above) and 3 Large Rectangular Inserts (Item 2 pictured above)
• Some combination of items 3 through 9 to nest inside your Item 1 inserts - examples include:
  • 3x of Item 3
  • 9x of Item 5
  • 1x of Item 3 + 2x of Item 4 + 2x of Item 5
  • 4x of Item 9
• Some combination of Items 3 through 9 to nest inside your Item 2 inserts - examples include:
  • 2x of Item 3
  • 3x of Item 4
  • 1x of Item 3 + 3x of Item 5
  • 4x of Item 8
