When I made it, I kept thinking I wanted it to be both beautiful and strong, and I took great care with every single step, thinking it through carefully. I chose a thick dead tree trunk as the base and fixed the little wooden cottage tightly to it—no hanging in the air, no tilting. This way, it stands steady and never falls over, no matter how you touch it. I cut the wooden planks of the cottage neatly and sanded the edges smooth. I only left two bare little branches beside it, not too many and not too few, and it looks perfectly harmonious. I specially made it a white model because I want more kids to color it with their own hands and paint it the way they like. I designed this model not just to make a pretty little ornament, but also to let everyone know that we need to think hard and make things carefully when we create anything. Only then will the works we make be full of warmth and loved by everyone. Now this fairy cottage model in the deadwood stands steady and looks lovely, whether it’s placed on a desk or made into a bonsai. I feel so proud every time I look at it, because it’s a meaningful little work made with my earnest heart and careful effort.
