G’day! I’m Claude (aka Troepster), a Brisbane-based maker who turns “surely this exists” into “fine, I’ll build it” 😄. I design print-first models: modular storage, organisers, and practical systems built to be sturdy, easy to print, and actually nice to use (no lid-wrestling). Version numbers mean real iteration and real testing. I’m also publishing LEGO/minifig display work: cases, backdrops, and modular mounts to give collections a tiny museum vibe. Remixes welcome, just ask first. Photos/comments help steer the next upgrade!

#snapstack #drydock V3 progress update 🧰💧
Quick progress update on SnapStack DryDock V3.
I’ve redesigned the box from scratch to address a few issues from V2 and to make the whole system far more modular going forward.
The big idea for V3 is simple:
one or two base case structures, then everything else becomes modular.
So instead of needing a separate full box for every variant, the base case becomes the foundation. From there, you’ll be able to add, remove, or swap parts depending on how you use your filament storage.
What’s changed so far
I’ve reworked the main box, gasket, latch areas, magnet system, and internal layout.
The new seal has been tested using Bluetooth hygrometers, and the early results look very promising. The test case dropped steadily and is currently sitting around 24% RH, with the monthly graph showing the humidity trending down from the initial setup. The base case has also been tested with and without the gasket, and both versions are sealing well so far.
The gasket itself has been redesigned. The goal is to make it easier to print, easier to fit, and less fussy overall.
Modular desiccant holder
I’ve also designed a new removable desiccant holder.
This uses an integrated magnet system, so the holder can snap into place and be removed when needed. The nice part: this desiccant holder is designed to be backwards compatible with all V2 cases and also works with some V1 cases.
That means existing users should still get useful upgrades without needing to reprint everything. No dry-box civil war required.
Magnet system and swatches
I’ve added internal magnet locations for swatches and future attachments.
The current design supports the standard swatch setup, but I’ve added an extra magnet position so other swatch styles and add-ons can latch on more cleanly. This still needs a bit of final refinement, but the direction feels right.
One major goal is to move away from awkward mid-print magnet pauses where possible. The new system should make magnets easier to insert and less likely to cause print issues.
Interchangeable front plate
The hygrometer area is the next big piece I’m working on, and I think the solution finally clicked.
Instead of baking one fixed hygrometer hole into the front of the box, I’m working toward an interchangeable front plate system.
That means you should eventually be able to choose between:
no hygrometer
round hygrometer
rectangular hygrometer
swatch only
label plate
other sensor or attachment options later
This should make the case much more flexible and avoid the usual “my hygrometer is 1 mm different because apparently standards are a myth” problem.
Still to finish before release
There are a few things I want to finish before calling V3 ready:
final front plate design
final swatch/magnet attachment improvements
more testing on the gasket and seal
more testing with removable desiccant holders
final tolerance checks
cleanup of the print profiles
That said, if anyone is interested in trying the current version early and providing feedback, I’d love to hear from you.
The more real-world printers, filaments, sensors, hygrometers, and strange shelf setups this gets tested with, the better V3 will be.
Thanks again to everyone who printed V1 and V2, posted photos, suggested changes, found weaknesses, broke things creatively, and generally helped push this design forward.
V3 is getting close. 🧱

After building the DryDock filament boxes, I kept reaching for the same footprint for… well, everything else on the bench. So here’s CargoDock: a DryDock-sized, Bambu box footprint storage box made for normal gear instead of spools and silica beads.
Think: card blanks, playing card decks, 9×5 acrylic offcuts, glues/adhesives, LEGO spares, hardware, random “I’ll need this later” parts. Basically, the stuff that loves to migrate into messy piles when you’re not watching.
There are two variants:
Standard (No Gasket): quick access, clean fit, perfect everyday shelf storage.
Seal Variant (TPU Gasket): adds a TPU gasket for a tighter close to help reduce dust ingress and give a bit more protection from ambient humidity. It seals as well as my DryDock style boxes, just without the desiccant internals.
Little design note: the non-gasket base is slightly taller so both versions end up the same overall height when closed. That way you can mix and match without your stack looking like it’s doing the limbo.
No hardware required: print the base + lid + 3 latches (and the gasket if you want the seal), snap it together, load it up, and start stacking.
If you print one, I’d love to see what you’re storing in it and how you’ve worked it into your shelf system. Boosts, photos, and “what if it had…” ideas are always welcome and genuinely shape what I build next. 🙌

New: Dry Box v2.1 ✅ Pro Gasket added (black TPU gives the “GT stripe” contrast) + new taller latches to match. Box + lid unchanged, so it’s a drop-in upgrade for v2 owners: just print gasket + latches. If you try it, please Boost and share pics/comments so I can keep improving it! 🙌🧰

Just dropped Stackable Filament Dry Box v2 on MakerWorld! Built around the Bambu box footprint so it fits most rack/shelf setups, now with a stronger body and a hinged snap-lock lid for an easier open/close. Hygrometer + optional swatch slot variants included. Note: v2 isn’t compatible with v1.x parts. Pics + feedback welcome! 🧊🧰
