Bio
I’m Thomas, a web designer with over ten years of experience, recently diving into the world of 3D printing. My journey began in 2023 with two semesters in mechanical engineering at TUM, driven by a deep interest in technology and environmental issues. Now, I’m applying what I learned in my studies to 3D printing, where I’ve already taken on my first custom print projects. This new, hands-on work has been incredibly fulfilling, and I’m excited to explore the potential of staying in this field long-term.

As I’ve received several requests regarding my model “Cable Duct Cover TV-Cables Channel Raceway” (https://makerworld.com/en/models/894232#profileId-851656), I am currently working on corner pieces at 90°, 67.5°, 45°, 30°, and 15°, in both directions. Additionally, I will include a T-shaped piece. 🫡
These corner pieces will not have their own wall mounts due to printability constraints, as the only issue I’ve encountered with my model so far comes from users who seem to overestimate their 3D printing skills and subsequently leave negative reviews. However, I believe the structural strength will be sufficient from the adjacent parts. Test print is running right at this moment. So i will have results in about 3-4 hours. ⏳#Troubleshooting
Furthermore, I am adding a size set ranging from 1.2 cm, 2 cm, 3 cm — in 1 cm increments — all the way up to 23 cm, 24 cm, and 24.5 cm.
Finally, I am trying to leave the 2nd Dimension of my Cable Duct cover and serve those view guys cable covering through their whole flat 😅. So I am working 90° angles for inside and outside corners of walls. I don't see a chance to print them as whole again due to printability but also because of esthetics and structure, especially for the connectors. Plan is#Comingsoon to print each part upright and somehow connect them strong and firmly for not leaving a too much visible gap behind... (if some of you guys have an idea... let me know :D😅)
Finally, I’m trying to break out of the 2D world of my Cable Duct Cover and serving for those few guys who are "cable covering" through their entire flat 😅. I’m currently working on 90° inside and outside wall corners. Printing them as a single piece doesn’t seem feasible—not just due to printabillity constraints, but also for aesthetic and structural reasons, especially regarding the connectors. Instead, I plan to print each part upright and find a way to connect them strongly and securely, while keeping any visible gaps to a minimum.
If anyone has a good idea on how to achieve this connection—let me know!
