SnapFrames: Community Designs, Accessories & More!Happy New Year! We’ve been busy building out new features since the Beta launch, and thanks to the community’s support, we’ve already unlocked and delivered many of our stretch goals. We’ve also added a new set of stretch goals based on your feedback & ideas. As a quick reminder, SnapFrames is still in Beta, and we really appreciate your patience and continued feedback as we refine and expand the app. Here’s what’s new in SnapFrames:Sign In & Save Your DesignsPremium and Commercial backers can now create an account and sign in to SnapFrames. Once signed in, your custom frame designs are saved to your account and accessible across devices. Signing in also unlocks the new Community Designs page that allows you to share your designs and browse designs from other users.When sharing designs, we recommend uploading photos of your printed frames so others can see how they look in real life. It’s a great way to show off designs you love and allow others to try them out. This feature is brand new, and we’ll continue expanding it over time.         AccessoriesThe new Accessories section includes three optional, printable add-ons you can generate with your frames:Backer Plate & Kickstand – A backing panel that holds your artwork in place. Can be printed with or without a built-in kickstand for tabletop display.Picture Mat – A printable mat that creates a clean border around your artwork for a more professional framing look. Border width is adjustable.Embossed Note – Add a personalized message embossed directly into the backer plate. A nice touch for gifts!       Smart OrientationThe generator now automatically selects the best orientation for each frame piece to minimize seams in the final assembly. It compares standard and diagonal orientations on the build plate and chooses diagonal if it results in fewer pieces and joints. You can uncheck the Smart Orientation button if you wish to orient the frame edges orthogonally, better for fitting more pieces on your build plate at a time with the cost of more seams. Smart Orientation ON (300mm frame - 4 pieces)    Smart Orientation OFF (300mm frame - 8 pieces)  Updated Connection JointsA new version of the connection joints is now live in Picture Frame mode. Frames may feel slightly firmer to snap together, but they’re more secure, with tighter gaps and improved consistency across different printers and materials.We’d love to hear your feedback on the new joints. At that point, the app will be out of Beta and ALL backers will have access to their unlocked features. After backing, see the Updates tab on the campaign page for your access code. The SnapFrames Generator is a web app that lets you customize and 3D print picture frames of any size, generated right in your browser.  We know many of you are eager to make custom frames for gifts and decorations before the holidays, so we're thrilled to announce that all Premium and Commercial Backers will receive early access to the SnapFrames Generator by December 18th. You can back the project now to reserve your access and begin planning your peronalized gifts, like framed photographs or artwork you create and 3D print.Image made with Chroma Canvas.
