This is my second version of an inner pot. The first version, which I designed only for round pots, can be found here -> https://makerworld.com/de/models/1623838. I only created this version because you asked me to

With this generator, you can create both square and rectangular inner pots. You can literally customize everything

  • Length x Width + Corner radius at the bottom (the base)
  • Length x Width + Corner radius at the top (top of the pot)
  • Overall height, wall thickness
  • Drainage width, as well as drainage quantity (the distribution of drainage automatically adjusts)
  • Bottom hole diameter (automatically adjusts without ever overlapping or touching the edge)

What you cannot break with it

  • You cannot reduce the walls to zero; the wall thickness has a lower limit, ensuring there is always material between the inside and outside
  • You cannot push the corners into the wall; the bottom corner radius is automatically kept small enough so that it never overlaps the wall thickness
  • You cannot destroy the base; the bottom hole automatically shrinks if the pot becomes too narrow, ensuring a closed base ring always remains
  • You cannot make the drainage slots too wide; the slot width is limited so that the wall between two slots never disappears
  • You cannot add more slots than geometrically fit; the number is automatically reduced to the maximum that fits into the straight wall sections without overlapping
  • You cannot shrink the pot to zero; width, length, and height each have a minimum value, below which the model will not collapse
  • You cannot make the top corners too large; the top radius automatically adjusts to the opening width so that the corners never overlap
  • The slot distribution always remains centered, no matter how many slots you choose; they distribute symmetrically across the walls without slipping out of the straight surface

Print Info:

  • Supports: no supports
  • The pot is printed upside down, with the base exactly in the middle. After printing, simply press the base into the pot; it fits perfectly

Update Log:

21.04.2026 - The base could be destroyed by changing the bottom dimensions, this has now been fixed. Thanks to @phaserburn for the info

Similarly, it is no longer possible to set the opening smaller than the base dimension; if this happens, the dimension from the top will be used

22.04.2026 - The model is now much more robust in construction and faster in generation

Added "Print the Bottom separately" PDF. If the top and bottom dimensions are the same, the base connects with the pot. In the slicer, you can then either print the base separately or position it next to the pot

Boost Me (for free)

You just printed something that cannot be bought in any store,
in exactly the size you needed. That's worth a photo in the
comments.

Every like, every boost, and every follow supports me as a maker
and motivates me to create more models for this great community
on MakerWorld. Thank you

Feel free to check out my other 3D models as well:

I'm not sure what's happening, but any change to the bottom length (positive or negative) seems to cause the drainage holes to disappear or glitch. Huge fan of the round version of this pot liner. Might proceed even without the bottom drainage but figured I'd check if I'm doing something wrong?

Hi, mega, I've been trying to print an insert for the planter for a while and only just realized it's tapered 🤣, so much for that. Would it be possible to leave off the feet? My planter already has built-in resting options inside

Is there anything else... I don't get STL or 3MF displayed for P1S when I download it... the file always shows me the entire hard drive 😱

Hello Annette, thank you for your interest in my 3D model. For this particular case, I would simply cut off the feet in the slicer. Set the height about 10% higher, then cut off the exact same amount from the bottom to maintain the exact dimensions

Sorry, but unfortunately I cannot help you with that. Seems to be an error on Makerworld's part. I would try reloading the page and downloading it again

It's a shame it doesn't earn boosts but if it happens, I will definitely give some, great idea, it would also be nice to have the possibility to make round holes in the walls. Instead of slots but already like this it's top! I didn't quite understand what the radius modifies

I have just double-checked the entire structure and parameters, I cannot find any more errors; what problem do you still have with the rays

Hello I tried again and it works well, thank you. Is there by chance an option to make the bottom without holes

Hello, great and very useful model, I also report the bug of the holes disappearing when customizing the model

Worked great for a small pot I printed that didn't have a drip tray. Printed in PLA.

I'm really glad it worked out well! PLA is perfect for this. Thanks for the feedback! 🙂
