Description

Parametric Stackfinity Label Generator 🔠

Building on my original Parametric Quick & Simple Label Maker, this version is specially tailored for Stackfinity, the Gridfinity-based modular storage system featured here. With this model, you can create clean, custom snap-in labels that perfectly fit the Stackfinity bin fronts.

Usage Guide (for automatic label generation)

1. Setup

  • Make sure you have OpenSCAD installed and accessible via command line.

See documentation for instructions on making openscad accessible via command line.
To verify, simply write openscad in a terminal (powershell) and it should open the application.

2. Create a Text File

  • Create a file named labels.txt in the same directory as the script.
  • Add each label on a new line with the following format:

NOTE: You can also leave the second text empty while keeping the comma to center text1 field vertically

3. Run the Script

  • Place the parametric_label_maker.scad file and the Python script in the same directory.
  • Change parameters in parametric_label_maker.scad as you want
  • Open a terminal in the working directory
  • Run the script in a command line:

    python auto_label_maker_stackfinity.py

  • The script will read each line in labels.txt, parse S<number>, text1 and text2, then generate an STL file for each pair in a folder called generated_labels.

4. Output

  • The generated .stl files are saved in generated_labels, with filenames based on parameters values (e.g., S3_M3x16_cap.stl).
  • Simply drag and drop them in Bambu Studio, click NO to keep objects seperated, click auto arrange on build plate and change filament color to the desired layer via preview.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or suggestions for improvement. I’m always open to feedback and eager to enhance the design. Enjoy your making journey! 🛠️💬
