This 3D‑printed soil block maker is designed for gardeners who want strong, healthy seedlings without using plastic pots. With this tool, you can easily press uniform soil blocks that hold together naturally, giving young plants the perfect start.

The mold creates multiple blocks at once, each with a consistent size and shape, so your seedlings grow evenly and transplant with minimal stress. The press plate and frame ensure firm, even compression, helping the soil stick together while still allowing roots to breathe.

You can use a wide range of soil mixes — compost, seed‑starting blends, or your own homemade recipe. The blocks release cleanly from the mold, and the system is reusable season after season.

Printing Details

The model shown was printed in PETG for strength and moisture resistance, using:

• 0.4 mm nozzle
• 0.2 mm layer height
• 3 perimeters
• 15% gyroid infill

The top contact layer of supports was printed in PLA, making the supports easy to remove and leaving clean surfaces on the PETG parts.

This soil block maker is perfect for anyone who wants to reduce plastic waste, grow healthier seedlings, and enjoy a more natural approach to starting plants.

I used a stainless steel M8x70 gate bolt with a 9x50 mm spring, 2x M3 x 20mm screw.

At the request of one user, I modified the blocker body so that it was not necessary to print this body with supports. The punch pins are screwable. I added files marked V2, you will find the 3mf print profile, stl file and photos of what V2 looks like.
