Description

This project contains all the 3d print parts needed for building a Hovercraft for the Bay Area Tech Challenge 2019.

The Tech Challenge 2019 required building a hovercraft that could navigate various tracks with different terrains, including completely smooth sections, sections with a combination of smooth and sandpaper surfaces, and sections with a combination of smooth and pegboard surfaces.

I formed a team and built a very simple hovercraft, which won the highest award for best overall performance.

This model contains two 3D-printed parts for the hovercraft: the downdraft engine mount and propeller engine mount.

The rest of the body of the hovercraft was built out of a big foam tray from the recycling bin. The engines were two 7 mm x 20 mm drone engines. Each engine is powered by a 3.7V AAA battery with its own independent circuit.

The final build of the model is like the picture below.
