Model Description
This model is an ultralight zip tie with an integrated label, designed to be printed in one piece (print-in-place) with no assembly required. Thanks to its wedge-tail design, it fits into the slot, ensuring a secure lock. It is ideal for organizing cables, labeling luggage, or sealing components. The large flat surface allows for applying stickers or writing directly on it. Maximum cable diameter: 1.25cm
⚠️ Important warning for PLA printing: PLA offers excellent aesthetic results, but it is a mechanically rigid material with a tendency towards brittle fracture when subjected to sudden bending. To ensure the zip tie functions perfectly, it is crucial to perform a quick "break-in":
- Do not bend the entire tail in a single movement as soon as the part is removed from the build plate
- Gently flex the joints one by one: start from the base and apply a slight bend to each individual hinge along its entire length
- The principle: This step allows for unlocking the print-in-place tolerances and distributes the initial mechanical stress uniformly. This prevents tension from concentrating at a single critical point, thus preventing teeth or hinge breakage
Printing Tips
- Materials: Excellent in PLA (following the advice above). With materials like PCTG, PETG, or ABS, they offer superior natural ductility, making the part intrinsically more flexible
- Adhesion: Ensure you have a well-calibrated first layer (the part has a large contact surface which prevents warping, but requires precision for the joints)
