Description
Design Concept
The Cable Commander is designed with functionality and ease of use in mind. Its simple structure allows for effective cable management, keeping your workspace tidy and organized. This is also known as the "network engineers best friend" as it keeps all the cables in place when you need to move them to replace hardware. The slots are measured to be able to hold up to the size of RG6 coaxial cable with slight clearance to slide the tool back or forward along the cables if needed. The hinges are print in place and the pins will tightly fit into the holes to grip the clamp arms in place while still giving the freedom to open them to add or remove other cables.
Purpose
It is intended to hold and organize computer cables or other electronic device cords, preventing tangling, keeping them in order and improving airflow around electronic components.
Printing Suggestions
I used 20% infill as for my use case they will be used in a network closet to keep switching cables organized during hardware upgrades. But you can use the standard settings to print for any of your own purposes. The only firm suggestion I’ll make is to use light support on the hinge sections and the slots. I printed in PETG for my initial one and ASA for the next one for toughness as well.
I like to keep my stuff as free as possible but it does take time and effort to keep things moving. So if you are willing you could consider buying me a coffee!
