Description
The “Cheap Yellow Display” CYD with rotary knob...
The lid is simply clipped onto the display glass. A lid file with cutouts for a screw is also available for download.
The housing features a round hole in the lid to accommodate the KY-040. (A file without this hole is also available.)
A recess for the USB ports is now incorporated into the side of the lid. The lid also sits flush with the housing (unlike in the photos)
My Project:
Coupling the CYD to a home amplifier. This communicates with SPOTIFY...
The CYD can communicate with Pioneer/Onkyo amplifiers via an eISCP interface.
Then a user interface for the display is needed, and the touch function must be enabled.
Finally, the rotary knob is added, which is not a potentiometer but an encoder without a zero position.
BTW:
Coupling the CYD via the SPOTIFY developer releases to the Spotify API also works. However, this is tied to a user and in my case was deemed unproductive – discarded. (But an exciting prospect if you implement user selection upfront… :-) Future project)
-Therefore, Plan B remained:
The PIONEER amplifier is present on the LAN and CAN use Spotify. In addition, these amplifiers also have an API (eISCP). This can be used to influence the amplifier and thus also the Spotify player (in the amplifier).
