The Level 3 Sierpiński Icosahedron takes fractal geometry to an even greater depth of complexity, introducing three full levels of recursion. With each triangular facet subdivided into self-similar icosahedra, this model achieves a mesmerizing blend of geometric beauty and mathematical precision, while maintaining the iconic icosahedron structure.

 

FDM Print Settings:

 

Infill: Gyroid, 10%

 

Supports: I don’t think they’re technically required, but I’ve never had much success printing without them, so I always use organic tree supports and highly recommend them.

 

Brim: Use both inner and outer brims for optimal adhesion.

 

Ironing: Enable ironing for top surfaces with a rectilinear pattern for a smooth and consistent finish. 

 

Seam Position: Set the seam position to "aligned" for better surface quality. 

 

Surface Patterns: Use a rectilinear pattern for bottom surfaces to match.

 

I also included a 3MF for a Bambu Lab P1S/.4 Nozzle

Ran the print in PP, came out excellently. 10% infill is plenty to maintain rigidity, this was the first time ive used ironing on the X1, and it had no defects at all.
