Description

This is a dowel for this collection of tool holders. It is essential for all other holders.
The dowel must be printed lying down, as this is the only way to ensure the correct fiber direction. If printed upright, the material will break in the middle and will not hold. It is secured with a Torx 3.5x25 screw.
System:
This collection focuses on tool holders for Tegometall perforated panels, frequently used in shopfitting. These are extremely robust and can withstand substantial loads. They are readily and inexpensively available in various sizes as used items on eBay.
The perforated panels I refer to have two alternating horizontal rows of holes with 15mm and 25mm spacing. The vertical distance between the hole rows is 12.5mm. The holes themselves are 5.5mm in diameter.

For fastening, I experimented with integrated holders, but it turned out that dowels with a screw are the best option. These are designed so that they are well held by a notch. This recess allows them to be printed lying down (due to the fiber direction). They fit precisely through the holes and are secured with a Torx 3.5x25 screw. The rear part expands and secures the part to be attached. PETG is likely the most suitable material here, but PLA also works well.
