Description
This remix is based on the Cheetah dry box and incorporates several modifications to enhance functionality and efficiency. The goal of this remix was to create an optimal solution for storing regenerable silica gel in combination with the popular Ikea Samla 22 L containers and the spool holder by ThomaS.
Changes Made:
- Reduced wall thickness of the housing and lid.
- Tightened tolerances to the spool holder.
- Added a embedded grip to the lid.
- Shortened the rib length in the lid.
Advantages and Disadvantages:
| Advantages | Disadvantages |
| 80% more space for silica gel, improving drying efficiency. | Printing now requires multiple build plates. |
| More stable fit in spool holders, preventing shifting. | Potential risk of spools sitting too tightly. |
| Lower likelihood of silica gel jamming in the lid. |
Notes:
- There is no tolerance between the lid and housing, making the lid initially stiff. However, this improves with repeated use.
- The drybox was successfully tested with Bambu Lab original spools and the printed spools by chsi76.
Depending on individual requirements, it may serve as a practical alternative to the original Cheetah dry box. Feedback, suggestions, and further improvements are welcome in the comments!
